Trying to extending nuclear power plant life illegal

Nuclear - get insured or shut down

Every nuclear power plant knees operating consent.  Which is strictly time limited.  As engineers over design nothing.  A nuclear power plants are designed to last 25 years, then be decommissioned.

The Fukushima incident in Japan demonstrates what happens if you ran a nuclear power plant beyond its design life: it fills in a catastrophic fashion!

Since Fukushima in 2010 every uranium nuclear power plant has needed annual operating insurance of 100 billion.  There being no insurance available above one billion, they make do a criminally insufficient 50 million.

The legal fine for missing insurance is the cumulative some of although missing insurance.  100 billion a year since 2010.  EDF in the UK is faced as nuclear plants exceeding the design life.

Only Sizewell B is still operating within its design life.  But without the legally required insurance cover.  Since Chernoby in 1986 the operating insurance was set at 40 billion.  Then a 100 billion after Fukushima in 2010.

So Sizewell B has only has the legally required insurance cover for two years of its operating life.  The nuclear inspector in the UK should have shut down every uranium nuclear plant operating without adequate insurance.

EDF cannot simply extend the life of out of operation nuclear power plants.  Engineer designed each plant designed to wear out.  And it would require another 10 million planning meeting. and a total rebuild to recommence opertion.

Every out of use the nuclear plant should be shut down and scrapped.  EDF has no magical power to some how extend the life of a shut down nuclear power plant.

King Charles III has emailed me personally to say he is strongly against uranium nuclear power.  The missing insurance was highlighted in my university undergraduate essay 1984.

Despite my essay circulating in engineering, nuclear power has never tried to get legal insurance: for rare good reason there is not available!

Operating nuclear power plant beyond its design life is in contravention of its operating consent, just plain illegal!

There will be no new nuclear power plant in Kent.  As it could never get the required an annual insurance cover.  And would require its own new planning consent: which would automatically tell the EDF to **** off.
